The difference in simple terms
三种方式的简单区别
A rebuild creates a fundamentally new house. A&A works retain meaningful parts of the existing building while making substantial additions or alterations. Renovation generally improves the existing home with less structural intervention.
全面重建意味着建造一栋全新的住宅；增建改建会保留现有建筑的重要部分，再进行较大规模扩建或改造；翻新通常以改善现有住宅为主，结构改动较少。
The boundary between these routes is not always obvious at the start. A site and consultant review may change the most practical option.
项目初期的界限未必明确，现场与顾问评估可能改变最合适的选择。
When a rebuild may make sense
什么时候适合考虑全面重建
- The existing house prevents the layout or floor area you need.现有房屋无法满足所需布局或建筑面积。
- Extensive structural work would be required even if part of the house is retained.即使保留部分建筑，仍需要大量结构工程。
- You want greater freedom to rethink circulation, services and the building form.希望重新规划动线、设备系统与整体建筑形态。
When A&A may be worth exploring
什么时候值得考虑增建改建
- Useful parts of the structure can potentially be retained.现有结构中仍有可继续利用的部分。
- Your goals are focused on extensions, reconfiguration or targeted upgrading.目标主要是扩建、空间重组或局部升级。
- The retained building can work with the desired design and technical requirements.保留建筑能够配合预期设计与技术要求。
