Why variations happen

Changes may come from owner decisions, design development, newly discovered site conditions or technical coordination. The goal is not to pretend changes never occur, but to manage them deliberately.

Look beyond the item price

A change can affect drawings, preceding work, following trades and delivery dates. Removing one item may not create a saving equal to its original allowance if related work has already occurred.
一项变更可能影响图纸、前序工程、后续工种和交付日期。如果相关工作已经发生，取消某个项目所节省的金额也未必等同于原始预算。
